Direct Mail Postcards - Type and Image

The fictitious client is a travel company seeking to attract travelers for an adventure trip which is exploring the wonders of nature.

Design a type and image relationship in which type and image speak to one another in unification of composition, sight lines, pattern, texture and personality.

Provided by the client was a small library of images as well as the copy content.

Objectives

Focused on creating a harmonious relationship between type and image. The goal was to unify composition, sight lines, pattern, and texture so that the viewer’s eye moves smoothly across the design.

Carefully cropped, and positioned the provided image to emphasize depth and flow, using natural lines in the landscape to guide the viewer’s attention towards the title.

The typeface was selected for its organic yet elegant form, reflecting both the softness and strength found in nature.

Making these pieces to a set of direct mail postcards allowing the piece to serve as both an advertisement and a physical mailing product.
